Note It Down is a fully offline notes app. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your data.
We don't collect anything. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no ads. Your notes never leave your device unless you choose to export a backup file yourself.
All notes, categories, and account details (your password, Unlock Code, and recovery key) are stored only on your device, inside the app's own private storage. Every note is encrypted at rest using AES-256, backed by your device's own secure hardware storage (Android Keystore). Nothing is transmitted anywhere, at any time, by the app itself.
If you use the optional "Back up my data" feature, the app creates one encrypted file containing your notes, protected by a password you choose. Creating and saving this file is something you do manually (e.g. saving it to your device's storage or sharing it via another app) — Note It Down never uploads or transmits this file anywhere on its own.
The app offers one optional one-time purchase (to unlock backup/restore), processed entirely through Google Play's own billing system. We never see or store your payment details — that's handled directly between you and Google. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google Play handles this.
The app requests no special device permissions beyond what's needed to process the optional in-app purchase through Google Play. It does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, or files, and does not use the internet for anything except that optional purchase.
Note It Down is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — it doesn't collect information at all.
